Who I am

Charisma Digital Limited is an AI marketing consultancy based in Auckland, New Zealand, run by Lisa Byrnes. In this policy, “I”, “me” and “Charisma Digital” mean Charisma Digital Limited. This policy explains how I collect, use, store and share your personal information, and the rights you have over it.

I handle personal information in line with the Privacy Act 2020 and its Information Privacy Principles.

What this policy covers

This policy covers the personal information I collect through my website at charismadigital.co.nz, my free tools and resources, my email list, and my enquiry and booking process. Work I do for clients is also governed by the separate agreement I put in place with each client.

What information I collect

I only collect the information I need. Depending on how you interact with me, that can include:

• Your name and email address, when you join my email list, download a resource, or send an enquiry.
• Your phone number, if you give it to me.
• Information about your business, when you book or take part in a clarity call or a project.
• Answers you give in my free AI governance check. These are processed in your browser to create your draft guidelines. I do not store them. If you choose to download your guidelines, your email address is added to my email list.

How I collect it

I collect information directly from you, when you fill in a form, send an email, join the list, use a tool, or talk with me.

Why I collect it and how I use it

I use your information to:

• Reply to your enquiry and arrange or run a clarity call.
• Deliver the resource or tool you asked for.
• Send you the emails you have signed up for.
• Provide and improve my services to clients.
• Run and improve my website.

I do not use your information for anything unrelated to these purposes without telling you first.

The tools and providers I use

I use a small number of trusted providers to run my business. They process some of your information on my behalf, only for the purposes above. These include:

• Mailchimp, for my email list and email delivery.
• Google, for booking clarity calls.
• My website host and WordPress, for running the site.
• AI tools, which I use in my work as set out on my How I use AI page. I do not enter your personal information into an AI tool without a clear reason, and I use the settings that keep your information out of model training where a tool offers them.

Storing your information overseas

Some of these providers are based outside New Zealand, including in the United States, so your information may be stored or processed overseas. Where that happens, I take reasonable steps to use providers that protect your information to a standard comparable to New Zealand’s, as the Privacy Act requires.

How I store and protect your information

I take reasonable steps to keep your information safe. I use secure accounts, strong and unique passwords, and a password manager, and I limit access to what is needed. No system is ever completely secure, but I work to protect your information against loss, misuse, and unauthorised access.

How long I keep it

I keep your information only for as long as I need it for the purposes above, or for as long as the law requires. When I no longer need it, I delete it or remove the details that identify you. You can ask me to remove your information at any time.

Email and your choices

If you join my email list, I will send you the emails you signed up for. Every email has an unsubscribe link, and you can opt out at any time. You can also email me to be removed.

Cookies and analytics

My website uses cookies and Google Analytics to understand how the site is used so I can improve it. You can control cookies through your browser settings.

When I share your information

I do not sell your information, and I do not share it for anyone else’s marketing. I only share it with the providers above who help me run my business, when the law requires it, or with your agreement.

Your rights

Under the Privacy Act 2020 you have the right to ask for a copy of the personal information I hold about you, and to ask me to correct it if it is wrong. Email me and I will respond as soon as I can, and within the time the Act allows.

If something goes wrong

If there is a privacy breach that could cause you serious harm, the Privacy Act requires me to notify you and the Office of the Privacy Commissioner. If you are not happy with how I have handled your information, please tell me first so I can put it right. You can also contact the Office of the Privacy Commissioner at privacy.org.nz.

Changes to this policy

I may update this policy from time to time. The current version will always be on this page, with the date it was last updated.
